Many a dog loving visitor to Greyton has arrived at the Nature Reserve, only to discover that dogs are not allowed. This is no reason to panic, as there are many dog friendly walks around Greyton. Here is a pick of them:

  1. Zig-Zag path up Gifkloof:

From the Vlei Street picnic site, cross the river and follow the signs to the bottom of the zig-zag path up Gifkloof. A moderately strenuous 20 minute uphill climb will reward you with with some of the best views in the Cape and picnic benches to enjoy your flask of coffee (or beer…we don’t judge).

From the top, either walk back the way you came, or keep going along the path until you arrive at a Nature Reserve sign, turn right down the hiking trail and walk back down to the river to add an extra half hour onto the hike
